Sapiens (Yuval Noah Harari)
"A brief history of humankind". That is what this book is all about. It starts with the evolution of apes into people. After that this book takes you on a long ride along all sorts of events that were important in the history of humans. It also takes a peek into why we prefer capitalism in our western world and how it works. In the end the writer tells about how the future of the human kind might look. Going into superhumans and how we can get to be them. He also speeks out his worries about how this may change the world for ever. At last it gives a complete different view on companies, human rights and religions.
I read this book because I was interested in how humans evolved from apes and then went to become the king of the world. This book explains that really really well. My favortite quote is: "There are no gods, no nations, no money, no human rights except in your collective imagination". Read 25/4/2022 |
